Acoustic and Environmental Health consultancy specialising in festival and event noise management.

Bassline Acoustics has been operating since 2023, following a successful career within Local Authority Environmental Health. We provide bespoke acoustic consultancy for festivals and live events, combining expertise in Acoustics and Environmental Health to deliver compliant, well-managed events.

While compliance is our focus, we ensure the artistry and audience experience are never compromised. Having worked alongside world-class engineers, we understand the importance of a professional show and are here to support both the technical team and the event licence holder.

Key Projects

Devuaden Festival 2025

Devauden Festival received a one-year premises licence in 2025 after outgrowing their previous space. With the new venue came additional requirements, including a Noise Management Plan, post-event complaint reporting, and the appointment of a specialist consultant. Bassline Acoustics was appointed to write the Noise Management Plan, liaise with the Local Environmental Health Officer, and deliver noise monitoring over three days across four stages. We also engaged with concerned residents and added extra monitoring locations so their feedback was considered. With a comprehensive post-event compliance report, Devauden Festival was able to confidently apply for an indefinite premises licence.

Blackweir Live 2025

Blackweir Live was a brand-new 35,000-capacity event space in Cardiff. Bassline Acoustics was appointed to provide pre-event site advice, baseline noise measurements, a Noise Management Plan, live event monitoring with deployed consultants and fixed equipment, and complaint investigation where required. The team worked closely with the PA company and touring engineers to ensure compliance across four event days. The successful delivery allowed tens of thousands of attendees to enjoy the event and paved the way for future editions, cementing Blackweir Live as a key outdoor event space in the UK.

Cardiff Castle 2024 & 2025

Cardiff Castle hosts a large series of events each year. Bassline Acoustics was appointed across two consecutive years to support the full series, working alongside world-class touring artists and engineers. The city-centre location presents both residential and commercial considerations, which we managed through carefully crafted Noise Management Plans, live monitoring, resident liaison, and compliance reporting. All events were successfully delivered without issues, meeting both client and regulatory expectations.

Tiger Yard

Tiger Yard is a semi-outdoor container village venue with street food and seasonal events, hosting up to 1,500 people in Cardiff Bay. Noise propagation is influenced by on-shore winds and the surrounding water. Bassline Acoustics was appointed to create a “living” Noise Management Plan and deploy consultants during events to liaise with sound engineers. This approach maintained compliance and allowed adjustments to the plan as event activity increased, ensuring ongoing responsible delivery.

Cardiff Pride 2024 and 2025

Bassline Acoustics were appointed for Cardiff Pride in 2024, hosted at Cardiff Castle, and again in 2025 at Bute Park. Our role included the preparation of the Noise Management Plan, on- and off-site noise monitoring, and the agreement of fair and achievable off-site noise limits, reflecting the complexity of multiple stages featuring high-profile drag performers and pop artists. The events were delivered over two days, hosting thousands of attendees in major city-centre locations.
